Your wedding ceremony is clearly one of the most important parts of the entire wedding day – it is, in the end, the very reason all of this is happening and the reason you are putting so much effort and time into planning the perfect Big Day.
How do you plan the dreamiest wedding ceremony ever? We have some tips for you – so keep reading if you want to find out more.
Talk to your fiancé. You might feel that he’s a little less interested than you are in the wedding day but trust us when we say that your fiancé is just as excited about this big event as you are. Talk to him and see what your “dream wedding” looks like – you might have to compromise a bit, but it will all be worth it when you will both be 100% happy with how the ceremony turned out. Discuss music, décor, location, style, and other elements of the ceremony to make sure you are both on the same page.
Talk to your officiant. We cannot stress enough how important it is to have an officiant who actually “gets” you. Talk to them before the wedding and establish the ground rules. Also, discuss whether or not you want them to give the “traditional” introduction or if you want them to say something custom about your love story.
DO take religious rituals into consideration. Depending on your religion and denomination, you might learn that in some communities, some things are less permissive than others. For instance, in Catholicism, the music is always the same and the wedding vows are always the same as well – you cannot personalize them.
Include special readings. Is there someone who didn’t make it to the wedding party list, but is still a very important person in your life? Or maybe you have a step parent you would like to honor at your wedding? Readings are a wonderful way of making your loved ones feel included and of adding uniqueness and personality to your wedding ceremony. Don’t shy away from including one in your Big Day too!
No matter what you decide, keep in mind that this is your moment. This is a truly emotional and unforgettable time in your life and you deserve to be nothing less than blissfully happy about it. Enjoy it. Cherish it. Savor every second!
